The purpose of a music video

the main objective of a music video is to premote the song and its artist. The artist wants to sell records of the song so they produce a music video to entertain the audience ending with them buying the song to listen to more often. once that song is sold to a customer then they can add it to ipods and other mp3 devices to listen to repeatedly and show to their friends.
before mp3 players and such there were limited ways to watch artiosts and listen to their songs. One of these ways was a popular tv programme that started in 1964 called top of the pops. this particular programme hosted all of the best artist of that particular year,month and week.

Since the show stopped aring in 2006 there have been many other ways to watch music videos and listen to the artist perform. One of the biggest ways to do this is to watch them on youtube, this is a video website where you can type anything in from how to cook a meal to how to build a lego toy. the artists post their videos on here for the public to watch and give feedback. very similar to what we do in AS and A2.

digital technology and how we got on with it

Digital technology

We used quite a few different types of digital technology at different stages in our production. In the research and planning stage we used the internet and sites like YouTube and face book to help us with our idea. We used Microsoft word and PowerPoint to help our research and bring it all together.

In the construction stage we used digital cameras to record our film opening and a unit of software called adobe premier pro. This software was good to do the editing on because of all the extra effects you could add in to make the film opening look as good as possible. We also used the internet to carry on with our research and to get feedback from our blog sites.

For the evaluation we used a blog to post all of our research construction and even evaluation questions. This was mainly used as a place to keep everything where anyone can see it and give us feedback. We posted our final production on to YouTube to try and get feedback from there.

Overall I think the technology was good but some of the aspects could be better. Including adobe premier pro which occasionally ran slow and was hard to use.
